MOUNTING:

Vertical mounting of the capacitor with the terminals up is recommended. However, horizontal mounting is acceptable providing the vent is located in the up position. Vertical mounting with the terminals down is not recommended because the capacitor life may be reduced and the operation of the pressure relief vent impaired.

SAFETY:

Because the watt–second value of these capacitors is high, precautions should be taken during the testing of these devices. Discharge resistors should be specified when there is a possibility of a residual charge left on the capacitor or to protect contacts. Mis–application, such as exceeding design limits or applying continuous AC voltage, may result in destruction or explosion of capacitors.

<![CDATA[Lennox 93M06 Cranckcase Heater - 70 Watt 240 Volts]]> http://www.acunitdirect.com/lennox-93m06-cranckcase-heater-70-watt-240-volts.html

What is the function of Crankcase heater

To keep the compressor oil warm so that refrigerant does not accumulate in the crankcase.

Where are they use

In places where there's really cold weather and the compressor would not start. Typically this is cased by the outside temperature keeping the pressure too low to engage the low pressure switch.

Installation

The 2 wires of the heater is wired directly to the 230 Volt input side of the contactor from the main power supply, and is always supplying 230 volts of power to the heater. The result is a warmed lower section of the compressor which drives any refrigerant that gathers there back into the system rather than to allow condensation in the crankcase.

<![CDATA[Compressor Saver Hard Start Capacitor Model CSR U2]]> http://www.acunitdirect.com/compressor-saver-hard-start-capacitor-model-csr-u1-1.html

The 5-2-1 Compressor Saver

Starting up is the hardest time in the life of any type of electrical equipment. Ever notice that light bulbs almost always burn out when you first turn them on and not while they are on? This is due to the huge current that rushes in when a switch is thrown and power is first applied.

Your air conditioner uses anywhere from 5 to 10 times more power on start-up than it does while running. With this burst of power comes a surge of heat that accompanies the electrical current. This heat damages the compressor, the terminals, the windings and run capacitor – all vital components of your air conditioner.

The 5-2-1 Compressor Saver® protects these components by significantly reducing the amount of time it takes for your compressor to start – in some cases up to 50%. This means your air conditioner and compressor will bear ½ the stress, strain and heat each and every time it starts. Considering that your air conditioner may start up more than 6,000 times in a single cooling season, the positive impact that the 5-2-1 Compressor Saver® has on your air conditioner is significant.

Before you replace your air conditioner, try adding a 5-2-1 Compressor Saver®. The 5-2-1 Compressor Saver® might save you from having to outlay thousands of dollars to buy a new air conditioner or compressor. At a fraction of the cost, installing the 5-2-1 Compressor Saver® is a wise investment.

Features:

 • Uses Potential Relay
 • Extend the life of your compressor
 • Reduce damaging in-rush current by up to 50%
 • Protect vital internal components
 • Save homeowners from costly repairs
 • Start air conditioners that are close to breaking
 • Approved by Compressor Manufacturers
 • Approved by Equipment Manufacturers

Specifications:

 • 3.5 -5 TON A/C units
 • 189 - 227 Mfd
 • 208-240V and up to 330VAC

Applications:

 • For single phase electricity only
 • Ideally suited for 1 - 3 TON A/C units
 • Air conditioners and heat pumps

1) Disconnect all sources of power to the unit. Note that there may be more than one.
2) Locate and remove the electrical service access door or panel.
3) Mount the 5-2-1 Kit potential relay and start capacitor in a suitable location within the electrical box. The potential relay should be mounted with the mounting tab up. The capacitor should be mounted with the terminals up. Take care to mount the components so that all non-insulated live terminals are at least 1/2" away from all metal or electrical conducting parts or components. Mount in a location that will prevent water from coming in contact with the non-insulated live contacts.

NOTE – The 5-2-1Compressor Saver® has been pre-wired for your convenience. There are only 3 color coded wires which need to be connected. The Black wire will be connected to the Common side of the compressor. The Striped wire will be connected to the Start winding of the compressor and the Red wire will be connected to the Run winding of the compressor.

Remember – 5, 2, 1, = Common, Start, Run. Proceed as follows:

"5" Common - Connect the loose end of the Black wire to T1 of the contactor. Check to see that the Common "C" terminal of the compressor also connects to T1. In most cases you will find a Black wire coming from the Common "C" terminal of the compressor.

"2" Start - Connect the loose end of the Striped wire to the Start winding side of the run capacitor. The Start winding side of the run capacitor is always marked "HERM". The Start winding side of the run capacitor can also be verified by following the yellow or orange or blue wire (in most cases) from the compressor "S" terminal to the Start winding side of the run capacitor.

"1" Run- Connect the loose end of the Red wire to the Run winding side of the compressor. The Run winding is connected to T2 of the contactor as well as the common side of the run capacitor which is usually marked with a "C" or "=". The Run winding can be identified in most cases by a Red wire coming from the R terminal on the compressor. The Red wire from the 5-2-1 start kit is normally connected at the "C" or "=" terminal on the run capacitor, but can also be connected to T2 of the contactor. See the illustration below.

<![CDATA[Compressor Saver Hard Start Capacitor Model CSR U3]]> http://www.acunitdirect.com/compressor-saver-hard-start-capacitor-model-csr-u3.html

 • 4 -5 TON A/C units
 • 189 - 227 Mfd
 • 270-324V and up to 330VAC

Applications:

 • For single phase electricity only
 • Ideally suited for 1 - 3 TON A/C units
 • Air conditioners and heat pumps

Techincal Diagram

sell sheetsell sheetsell sheet

TX3N4 - 2.5 To 3 Ton TXV Kit - For R410a Refrigerant Equipment

Thermostatic Expansion Valves can be mounted in any position on the evaporator coil inlet and are reliable, efficient and virtually trouble-free. Select the TXV to correspond with the tonnage of your air conditioner or heat pump, as well as to match the type of refrigerant your systems uses, R22 or R410A. They are required for 14 SEER or higher split system heat pumps, and an optional upgrade for other air conditioning systems.

According to a california Energy Commision report, intalling TXV's in all systems would increase the seosonal efficiency 11%.

<![CDATA[Compressor Saver CSR U1 Hard Start Capacitor]]> http://www.acunitdirect.com/compressor-saver-hard-start-capacitor-model-csr-u1.html

 • 1 - 3 TON A/C units
 • 88 - 108 Mfd
 • 208-240V and up to 330VAC

Applications:

 • For single phase electricity only
 • Ideally suited for 1 - 3 TON A/C units
 • Air conditioners and heat pumps

Techincal Diagram

<![CDATA[Goodman Electronic All Fuel Control Board Kit]]> http://www.acunitdirect.com/goodman-electronic-all-fuel-control-board-kit.html

The AFE18 control is designed for use in heat pump applications where the indoor coil is located above/ downstream of a gas or fossil fuel furnace. It will operate with single and two stage heat pumps and single and two stage furnaces. The AFE18 control will turn the heat pump unit off when the furnace is turned on. An anti-short cycle feature is also incorporated which initiates a 3 minute timed off delay when the compressor goes off. On initial power up or loss and restoration of power, this 3 minute timed off delay will be initiated. The compressor won’t be allowed to restart until the 3 minute off delay has expired. Also included is a 5 second de-bounce feature on the “Y, E, W1 and O” thermostat inputs. These thermostat inputs must be present for 5 seconds before the AFE18 control will respond to it.

An optional outdoor thermostat, OT18-60A, can be used with the AFE18 to switch from heat pump operation to furnace operation below a specific ambient temperature setting, i.e. breakeven temperature during heating. When used in this manner, the “Y” heat demand is switched to the “W1” input to the furnace by the outdoor thermostat and the furnace is used to satisfy the first stage “Y” heat demand. On some controls, if the outdoor thermostat fails closed in this position during the heating season, it will turn on the furnace during the cooling season on a “Y” cooling demand. In this situation, the furnace produces heat and increases the indoor temperature thereby never satisfying the cooling demand. The furnace will continue to operate and can only be stopped by switching the thermostat to the off position or removing power to the unit and then replacing the outdoor thermostat. When the AFE18 receives a “Y” and “O” input from the indoor thermostat, it recognizes this as a cooling demand in the cooling mode. If the outdoor thermostat is stuck in the closed position switching the “Y” demand to the “W1” furnace input during the cooling mode as described above, the AFE18 won’t allow the furnace to operate. The outdoor thermostat will have to be replaced to restore the unit to normal operation.
