About This Product

UltraLite® is strengthened by miles of fiber in each square foot of fiber-cement coating. This fiber allows the pad to flex instead of cracking or breaking. The textured surface prevents the condensing unit or portable generator from sliding, and allows water drainage, while the engineered encapsulated polystyrene (EPS) core prevents warping and provides a solid bottom to resist settling. Unaffected by soil conditions, ultraviolet (UV) light, temperature extremes, and other weather conditions.

Description

UltraLite®: the UltraLite® Equipment Pads are composed of Type I expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) having a nominal 1.0-pound-per-cubic-foot (16.0 kg/m3) density. The pads are molded in a form in which a cement slurry and polypropylene fiber mat are bonded to five sides of the EPS foam. The pad is offered in both a 2 inch (51mm) or 3 inch (76mm) thickness. The composite coating is approximately 7/32 inch (5.6mm) to ¼ inch (6.4mm) thick on the pad surface, and approximately 3/4 inch (19.1mm)thick around the perimeter edges.

Application

The equipment pads support air-conditioning compressor and condensing units as required per building code in accordance with the load limitation set forth in Package Metrics. 30" x 30" @ 3" thickness= 1071 lbs. (Allowable Total Load)

Installation

The equipment pads are installed directly on undisturbed natural soil or compacted fill that has been cleared and leveled. The pad is then placed on the soil and the equivalent located thereon. The soil must be nonexpansive and have a minimum allowable foundation pressure of 1,000 pounds per square foot (48 kPa) as determined by the building official.

Each equipment pad is indentified with an adhesive-backed label indicating UltraLite®. Each pallet/package of pads is further identified with the DiversiTech Corporation, address, telephone number and the evaluation report number.
