The Rheem Classic® Series High Efficiency RAPM- Condensing Units were designed with performance in mind. These units offer comfort, energy conservation and dependability for single, multi-family and light commercial applications.
These units also contain the most advanced alternate refrigerant which contains no chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), or hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), or other compounds that may leak from air-conditioning systems and potentially harm the protective ozone layer of the Earth’s atmosphere.
The Rheem Classic® Series RAPM- Condensing Units are the result of an ongoing development program for improved efficiencies. These units are flexible enough to achieve up to 16.00 SEER in specific match-ups, continuing a tradition of high efficiency

When you buy an ENERGY STAR labeled air conditioner or heat pump from Rheem, you are acquiring a product that is in the top 25% for efficiency. Depending on the age of your existing equipment, you can save from 15%-40% on your utility bills by choosing an ENERGY STAR® qualified product from Rheem.
Air is discharged through a unique grille pattern located on top of the unit, and is directed upward and away from bushes and shrubs. This discharge pattern allows for quite fan operation and low noise levels, which you and your neighbors will appreciate.
Rheem installs high and low pressure controls on high-efficiency models (options on standard-efficiency models) to protect the scroll compressor from pressure extremes.
The most expensive component of any condensing unit is the compressor. Rheem installs Copeland Compliant Scroll® Compressors throughout its entire residential air conditioning line for proven dependability, efficiency, and sound reduction.
Rheem air conditioning units are constructed with a powder-coat paint finish and galvanized steel cabinet to protect the condensing coil fins from yard hazards, extreme weather, and corrosion.
Rheem air conditioning units use an innovative wraparound outdoor coil constructed of copper tubing and aluminum fins. This design allows improved airflow transfer and helps reduce energy consumption.
Proper sizing and installation of equipment is critical to achieve optimal performance. Split system air conditioners and heat pumps must be matched with appropriate coil components to meet ENERGY STAR criteria.
This unit should be installed by a qualified licensed HVAC technician. The products we sell on our site are intended by the manufacturers to be installed by professional heating and air conditioning contractors. They are available to you the homeowners as a means of saving a substantial amount of money. We know the advantages of self-installation, as well as any disadvantages, and it’s your decision to purchase from us and install on your own.

| FAQ | All manufacturers of HVAC equipment do not endorse, approve, or certify any online sale of its products through auction websites, online retailers or any other method of online sales direct to consumers without an in-person site visit, inspection, and installation by a qualified, trained HVAC professional. Is this unit under warranty?Under the terms of the manufacturer's warranty and to comply with federal refrigerant handling laws, it is required that the system be checked, started up and signed-off on by a licensed ac contractor prior to use. Keep a copy of the installation ticket for your records. How do I contact a contractor to make the equipment installation? Please use the Find a contractor system on this website to locate a professional Contractor near you. Please note that the Contractors listed on the AC Unit Direct website are independent contractors and are not owned by, employed by, operated by, or authorized by acunitdirect.com. | Hire a contractor | Installation is available for the following counties: Miami - Broward - Palm Beach - Martin - St. Lucie |
| Our suggestions | The contractor should spend significant time inspecting your current system and home to assess your needs. A bigger system isn't always better; a contractor should size the heating and cooling system based on the size of your house, level of insulation, and windows. A good contractor will inspect your duct system (if applicable) for air leaks and insulation and measure airflow to make sure it meets manufacturers specifications. When comparing contractors' proposals (bids), be sure to compare cost, energy efficiency and warranties. A lowest price may not be the best deal if it's not the most efficient because your energy costs will be higher. |

| Documents | How a Central Air AC Works?A traditional home comfort system has two parts: an indoor unit, such as a furnace or air handler, and an outdoor unit. An air conditioner is the outdoor unit that cools air and sends it to the indoor unit for circulation through your home. Indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together. When the air conditioner is properly matched with a furnace or air handler, you get maximum efficiency and longer system life. Air conditioning and cooling efficiency is measured using a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). A higher SEER means higher energy efficiency. The latest standard for SEER is 13 (beginning January 2006).
Benefits* Indoor comfort during warm weather - Central air conditioning helps keep your home cool and reduces humidity levels.
* As your central air conditioning system draws air out of various rooms in the house through return air ducts, the air is pulled through an air filter, which removes airborne particles such as dust and lint. Sophisticated filters may remove microscopic pollutants, as well. The filtered air is then routed to air supply duct work that carries it back to rooms. * Because the compressor bearing unit is located outside the home, the indoor noise level from its operation is much lower than that of a free-standing air conditioning unit. |
